Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Melt the butter, brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk, and golden syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until smooth and well combined.

Crush the digestive biscuits into small crumbs and add them to the saucepan. Mix well.

Pour the mixture into a lined baking dish and press it down firmly.

Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.

Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave or double boiler.

Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer and spread it evenly.

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.

Once set, cut into squares and serve.
