  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the shortbread base ingredients and mix until crumbly. Press the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
  3. While the shortbread base is baking, prepare the caramel filling by melting the caramel in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until smooth.
  4. Once the shortbread base is baked, pour the caramel filling over it and spread evenly.
  5. Place the dish in the refrigerator and let it rest for 1 hour.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate topping in short intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  7. Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer and spread evenly.
  8. Return the dish to the refrigerator and let it set for another 30 minutes.
  9. Once set, cut into squares and serve.
