Brownie Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Remove from the oven and let the cupcakes cool in the tin for 5 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, peanut butter, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth and creamy.

Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, frost them with the peanut butter frosting.

Garnish with chopped peanuts, if desired.
