Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round cake pan.

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Pour the mixture into the greased cake pan.

Sprinkle the blueberries evenly over the butter-sugar mixture.

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add the egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

Pour the batter over the blueberries in the cake pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
