  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Use the back of a spoon to flatten each cookie slightly.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  8. In a separate bowl, whisk together the confectioners' sugar, water, corn syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth.
