Black rice, also known as forbidden rice, was once reserved for Chinese emperors and is highly nutritious.

Cook black rice according to package instructions.

In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.

Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.

Add cooked black rice to the pan and stir to combine.

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Pour the sauce over the rice and broccoli mixture.

Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until everything is well coated and heated through.

Remove from heat and sprinkle with toasted almonds.
