  • 3 cup Mixed berries
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Water
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the berries, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water. Stir until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.
  5. Pour the berry mixture into a baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough mixture over the berries.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the berries are bubbling.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  9. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
