In a medium bowl, mash the bananas and set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the mashed bananas, milk, and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and mix well.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
