  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mash the bananas and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the mashed bananas, milk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and mix well.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, spread whipped cream over the top of the cake. Garnish with banana slices and Nilla wafers.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
