Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.

In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flaxseed meal.

In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar together. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts.

Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
