  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cardamom, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, mix the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the plain yogurt. Mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the mashed bananas and chopped walnuts.
  7. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the muffins cool in the tin for 5 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
