Banana Bread
Banana bread became popular during the Great Depression as a way to use overripe bananas that would otherwise go to waste.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.

In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.

Add the melted butter, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.

Fold in the chopped walnuts.

Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
