  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the batter, then sprinkle with chocolate chips. Pour the remaining batter over the top.

  7. Allow the brownies to cool in the baking dish for 30 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
