Bow tie pasta is also known as farfalle in Italian, which means ‘butterflies’. The shape of the pasta resembles a butterfly or a bow tie, hence the name.

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the bow tie pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until melted and well combined.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the cheese sauce and toss to coat.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  6. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
