  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with the applesauce, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner with batter until 2/3 full.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze.
  10. Once the cupcakes have cooled, use a small knife or a cupcake corer to make a hole in the center of each cupcake.
  11. Fill each hole with applesauce.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the filled cupcakes.
  13. Let the glaze set for 10 minutes before serving.
