Grease a round cake pan and pour half of the batter into it.

Arrange half of the apple slices on top of the batter.

Pour the remaining batter over the apples and arrange the remaining apple slices on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
