Apple Turnovers
Apple turnovers are believed to have originated in Europe and have been enjoyed as a sweet treat for centuries.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Peel, core, and dice the apples.

In a bowl, mix the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.

Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat and add the apple mixture. Cook for 5 minutes until the apples are tender.

Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into squares.

Place a spoonful of the apple mixture onto each square.

Fold the squares diagonally to form triangles and seal the edges with a fork.

Brush the turnovers with beaten egg.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
