  2. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes, then drain.
  3. Heat ghee in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, and cloves. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add chopped onion and cook until golden brown.
  6. Add soaked and drained rice to the saucepan and stir to coat the rice with ghee and spices.
  7. Add water and salt. Bring to a boil.
  8. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  9. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with toasted almonds.
  11. Serve hot.
