Almond Pastry with Strawberries
Almonds are not true nuts, but rather seeds of the almond tree’s fruit.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Thaw the puff pastry sheets according to the package instructions.

In a mixing bowl, combine almond meal, sugar, butter, egg, and almond extract. Mix well.

Roll out one sheet of puff pastry onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Spread the almond mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.

Arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the almond mixture.

Roll out the second sheet of puff pastry and place it on top of the strawberries.

Press the edges of the two pastry sheets together to seal.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
