Mama’s Delicious Sugar Cookies and Buttercream Frosting

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a medium bowl, beat together the unsalted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.
