  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Yellow food coloring
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir in the yellow food coloring.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, frost the cake with your favorite frosting and serve.
