In the bread machine, combine bread flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, salt, instant yeast, butter, egg, milk, and vanilla extract.

Set the bread machine to the dough setting and let it knead the dough.

Once the dough is ready, remove it from the bread machine and knead in the chocolate chips.

Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a bun.

Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rest for 30 minutes.
