  • 2.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Cream cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 unit Egg
  • 1/2 cup Strawberry jam
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth.
  5. Add the cream cheese mixture to the flour mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  6. Divide the dough in half. Roll out one half into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  7. Spread the strawberry jam evenly over the dough.
  8. Roll out the remaining dough into a rectangle and place it on top of the jam layer.
  9. Press the edges together to seal the braid.
  10. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the braid.
  13. Let cool slightly before serving.
