  • 2 cup Strawberries
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Whipped cream
  • 6 leaves Mint leaves
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced strawberries and sugar. Set aside to macerate for 15 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Cut in butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Stir in milk and vanilla extract until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Allow the shortcakes to cool for 10 minutes.
  8. Split the shortcakes in half and fill with macerated strawberries.
  9. Top with whipped cream and garnish with mint leaves.
