  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the butter into small pieces and add it to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the strawberries.
  7. Spoon the batter into a greased muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  8. Sprinkle the tops of the muffins with turbinado sugar.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
