Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Milk
  • as desired Food coloring (green, yellow, black)
  • as desired Frosting
  • as desired Candy eyes
  • as desired Licorice laces
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a snake-shaped cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just blended.
  5. Divide the batter into three bowls. Add green food coloring to one bowl, yellow to another, and leave the third bowl plain.
  6. Spoon the batter into the prepared cake pan, alternating colors to create a snake pattern.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and let cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. Once cooled, frost the cake with your desired frosting and decorate with candy eyes and licorice laces to resemble a snake.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
