Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 cup Whipped cream
  • 2 cup Fresh strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, vanilla extract, and milk.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow the shortcakes to cool for 10 minutes.
  9. Slice each shortcake in half horizontally.
  10. Top the bottom half of each shortcake with whipped cream and sliced strawberries.
  11. Place the top half of the shortcake on the strawberries.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
