Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 stick Unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut the butter into small cubes and add it to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together.
  7. Pat the dough into a circle that is about 1-inch thick.
  8. Use a round biscuit cutter to cut out scones from the dough. Place the scones onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
