Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 4 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 can Green chiles
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk and melted butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Drain and chop the green chiles, then fold them into the batter along with the grated cheddar cheese.
  6. Grease a baking dish or cast iron skillet and pour in the batter.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cornbread to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
