Ingredients
  • 300 gram Potatoes
  • 100 gram Green Peas
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 piece Green Chilies
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander Leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 cup Oil
  • 8 sheet Phyllo or Samosa Pastry Sheets
Instructions
  1. Boil the potatoes until tender, then peel and mash them. Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onion, green chilies, and ginger. Sauté until onion turns golden brown.
  3. Add green peas and cook for a few minutes. Then add mashed potatoes, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Take a samosa pastry sheet and cut it into two equal halves. Fold each half into a cone shape.
  7. Fill the cone with the potato-green pea mixture and seal the edges using water.
  8. Repeat the process for all the pastry sheets.
  9. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Fry the samosas until golden brown and crispy. Drain excess oil on a paper towel.
  10. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
