Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoon Cold water
  • 2 cup Mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 beaten Egg
  • as needed for dusting Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a circle large enough to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim any excess.
  3. In a separate bowl, toss the mixed berries with cornstarch and lemon juice. Spoon the berry mixture into the tart shell.
  4. Brush the beaten egg over the edges of the tart crust. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the berries are bubbling.
  5. Allow the tart to cool for 20 minutes before removing from the pan. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
