  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a square baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
