Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tablespoon Red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the red food coloring and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Shape the red velvet dough into 1-inch balls. Make a small indentation in the center of each ball and fill with a small amount of the cream cheese mixture. Roll the dough balls in powdered sugar to coat.
  7. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops crackle. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
