Ingredients
  • 500 gram Potatoes
  • 200 gram Cheddar cheese
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 250 gram All-purpose flour
  • 1 piece Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 4 tablespoon Sour cream
Instructions
  1. Boil the potatoes until tender, then mash them.
  2. Grate the cheddar cheese.
  3. Finely chop the onion and sauté it in butter until translucent.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, grated cheese, sautéed onion, flour, egg, and salt. Mix well to form a dough.
  5. Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into a thin circle.
  6. Place a spoonful of the potato-cheese filling in the center of each circle.
  7. Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal.
  8. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pierogies in batches for about 5 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
  9. Remove the cooked pierogies from the water and drain.
  10. Serve hot with sour cream.
