Ingredients
  • 500 gram Potatoes
  • 250 gram All-purpose flour
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 4 tablespoon Sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable oil
Instructions
  1. Boil the potatoes until tender, then drain and mash them.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, salt, and pepper. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a thin circle.
  5. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the onion until translucent.
  6. Place a spoonful of the potato filling onto each dough circle and fold it in half, sealing the edges.
  7. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pierogies in batches for about 3-4 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
  8. In a separate skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat and fry the boiled pierogies until golden brown.
  9. Serve hot with sour cream and sautéed onions on top.
