  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Crush 12 Oreo cookies and set aside.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  9. Arrange the remaining 8 Oreo cookies on top of the batter.
  10. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool in the baking dish for 30 minutes.
