Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a round cake pan.

Peel, core, and slice the apples.

In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

Add the butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients. Mix well.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan.

Layer the sliced apples on top of the batter.

Pour the remaining batter over the apples.

Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before removing it from the pan.
