Ingredients
  • 0.5 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 0.25 cup Molasses
  • 2.25 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg, then stir in the molasses.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  7. Roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat.
  8. Place the coated balls onto a baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the cookies are slightly firm to the touch.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
