Cinnamon rolls are believed to have originated in Sweden and were traditionally eaten on October 4th to celebrate Cinnamon Bun Day.

Ingredients
  • 3 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 stick Unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough a few times until smooth.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  8. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  9. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
  10. Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
  11. Cut the log into 12 equal slices.
  12. Place the slices in a greased baking dish.
  13. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  14. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze.
  15. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls.
  16. Serve and enjoy!
