Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 6 drop Food coloring (optional)
  • 1 cup Buttercream frosting
  • 2 tablespoon Sprinkles
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. If desired, add food coloring and mix until evenly distributed.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, frost the cupcakes with buttercream frosting and sprinkle with sprinkles.
