Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once the cake has cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
