Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Key lime zest
  • 1/3 cup Key lime juice
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Key lime juice
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the key lime zest and juice.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and key lime juice until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
  7. Let the glaze set for 1 hour before serving.
