In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture, stirring until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

In the meantime, prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
