Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 cup Molasses
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar, for rolling
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and molasses until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in granulated sugar.
  7. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops are cracked.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
