Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 4 tablespoon Butter
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 9-inch (23cm) square baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  4. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir the melted butter into the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cornbread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes before serving.
  8. Cut into squares and serve warm.
