Ingredients
  • 1 cup Grits
  • 4 cup Water
  • 2 piece Jalapeno peppers
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
Instructions
  1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add salt and slowly whisk in the grits.
  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. While the grits are cooking, finely chop the jalapeno peppers.
  4. After 20 minutes, stir in the jalapeno peppers, cheddar cheese, butter, and black pepper.
  5. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the grits are creamy.
  6. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  7. Serve hot as a breakfast side dish or as a main course for a spicy brunch.
