Ingredients
  • 2 pound Apples
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples. Place them in the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the apples in the baking dish.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  6. Allow the apple crisp to cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
