  2. Trim and blanch the green beans in boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add diced onions and minced garlic. Cook until onions are translucent.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the onions and garlic, stirring constantly for 1 minute.
  6. Slowly whisk in vegetable broth and milk, allowing the mixture to thicken.
  7. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.
  8. Add blanched green beans and cooked mushrooms to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly.
  9. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  10. In a small bowl, combine breadcrumbs and melted butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the casserole.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the casserole is bubbly and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
  12. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.
