In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.

Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for a few seconds.

Roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch (3 cm) thickness.

In a small bowl, mix together the ground cinnamon and brown sugar.

Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the dough.

Starting from one end, roll up the dough tightly like a jelly roll.

Cut the rolled dough into 12 equal slices.
