Ingredients
  • 2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Molasses
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Boiling water
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix until well combined.
  5. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the gingerbread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
