  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoon Ice water
  • 4 large Apples
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 large Egg
Instructions
  1. In a food processor, combine flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Add cold cubed butter and pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water and pulse until dough comes together. Shape the dough into a disk, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). On a floured surface, roll out the dough to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim any excess. Chill the crust in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Arrange the apple slices in a circular pattern over the crust.
  4. Brush the beaten egg over the exposed edges of the crust. Bake for 25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender. Allow the tart to cool for a few minutes before serving.
